Building Your Knowledge Base
Add your business FAQs, prices, and policies so the AI Auto-Reply can answer customer questions accurately and automatically — by pasting text, uploading files, or crawling your website.
How to do it
Click Automation in the left sidebar and select Knowledge Base. Configure your embedding provider first (OpenAI, Google, or Cohere) by clicking Configure in the top card.
You have three options — use whichever fits your content best:
- Add Document — Upload a PDF, DOCX, TXT, or Markdown file (up to 10 MB).
- Paste Text — Type or paste your FAQs, policies, or product details directly.
- Add Website — Enter a URL and let BizBotify crawl your help centre, FAQ page, or any web page automatically.
Click Add Website, enter your URL, and choose the crawl mode:
- Single page — Imports just that one URL. Great for adding a specific page like your pricing or returns policy.
- Full crawl — Follows internal links from your seed URL up to the depth you choose (1–5 levels). Ideal for importing an entire help centre in one go.
Each page is saved as its own document so you can update or remove individual pages later.
Each document shows a status badge — pending → processing → ready. The AI only uses documents marked ready. Large crawls or files may take a minute or two.
For website documents, click the ↺ refetch button next to any page to re-crawl just that URL and update its content — no need to re-import your entire site when a single page changes.
